WELCOME

  Welcome to Prof190!

On behalf of George Gough and myself I would like to welcome you to Prof190 and Prac190!

Mr. Gough and I together will lead your professional learning during our on-campus class time and your in-school practicum. Some classes will be individual and some paired. However, our two groups have been created according to your Prac190 schools and locations in Toronto, Brampton and Mississauga.

George and I ask the following commitments:

·    Be punctual and prepared. Each class will have prior requirements as set out during class and through our agendas;

·    Participate fully during class time. The more you get involved the more you will take with you from our class.

·    Don’t be afraid to ask questions or interject when you do not understand the points being made. Like the classroom, clarity is a necessity. There is no such thing as a ‘poor’ question.

·    Complete and submit all assignments in a timely manner. Be aware of what is due and when. Although this is a ‘Pass – No Honours’ course, it is one where you truly get out of it what you put in!

·    Although our on-campus classes are mainly on Friday afternoons, George and I are always available for further consultation through email and personal one-on-one meetings, as arranged. Feel free to take advantage of these opportunities as the need arises.

Once again welcome to the teaching profession. George and I look forward to working with each of you this year!
